SHA (Socialist Health Association) Cymru Wales supports Mark Drakeford’s bid to lead Welsh Labour
Members of SHA Cymru Wales have been asked by their officers if they wished the Association to make a supporting nomination in the leadership contest and, if so, which of the three candidates members favoured. Members overwhelmingly backed Mark Drakeford as their preferred candidate to succeed Carwyn Jones as Leader of Welsh Labour. Members also agreed to a supporting nomination being made.
SHA Cymru Wales is affiliated to Welsh Labour and has worked especially closely with successive Labour Health Ministers and Cabinet Secretaries. It is clear that Mark’s track record in Government from his early days as a special advisor to Rhodri Morgan, his track record as Health Minister and Finance Secretary, and his open and early support for Jeremy Corbyn’s policy agenda, has found favour with SHA members in Wales.
