How is it run?

The SHA in the UK operates through it’s Central Council which is elected annually by the membership. SHA Scotland and SHA Cymru Wales operate on a devolved basis with their own officers. SHA Cymru has devolved responsibility for creating policies relevant to Wales and for establishing productive relationships with Welsh Government, the Welsh Labour Party, healthcare professions in Wales, relevant social care services and organisations representing service users and others. SHA Cymru has a small executive (unpaid) team of Chair: Alison Scouller, Vice-Chair/Assistant Secretary Tony Beddow, Secretary: Linda Lewis, Treasurer: Adrian Sharratt. Wales currently has two members on Central Council, as of right on this body, directly elected at the Wales AGM. Alison Scouller our Chair and Linda Lewis our Secretary hold those places. In addition, Dr Brian Gibbons and Tony Beddow were elected via a national ballot of all members.
